Assemblyman Joe Giglio (R,I,C-Gowanda) is encouraging residents of Cattaraugus, Allegany, and Chautauqua to submit order forms for their County Soil & Water Conservation District’s annual Conservation Tree and Shrub Seedling Program sale. Orders are due by the end of March.
The 2007 selection features 34 varieties of trees and shrubs chosen for conservation uses and practices. Seedling combination packs and wildflower seed mixes designed to attract wildlife are available through the program.
“This is a great opportunity for landowners to contribute to the environment,” said Giglio. “As we participate in the program and plant more trees and shrubs, the quality of our air becomes purer and our beautiful landscape in Western New York is sustained.”
Order forms are available at Giglio’s Olean district office for pick-up or by calling (716) 373-7103 to have one mailed. Additionally, anyone interested in more information on the tree and shrub sale may contact their respective County Soil and Water Conservation District directly at the following numbers:
Allegany County: (585) 268-7831 x.102
Chautauqua County: (716) 664-2355
The pick-up dates are tentatively scheduled for around April 20-21st.
