Assemblyman Saladino Participates In “Sex Offender Watch” Task Force
April 28, 2009
Assemblyman Joseph S. Saladino was joined by his colleagues Assemblyman David G. McDonough and Assemblyman Tom McKevitt, as well as the Nassau and Suffolk County police departments, numerous community organizations and concerned citizens, as he participated in a “Sex Offender Watch” Task Force event recently held at Merrick Library. The group discussed and reviewed current laws that affect communities with sex offenders and looked at ways to improve Megan’s Law notifications. Testimony heard at the forum will help lawmakers determine what crime prevention measures have been effective in the past and what needs to be addressed and improved in the future.
“My resolve to keep dangerous sexual predators out of our neighborhoods and away from our children is stronger than ever before,” said Assemblyman Saladino. “These events are an important way to ensure we hear the public’s concerns and that we deliver on their message to protect their children.”
