New York State Assemblyman Joseph Saladino will be hosting his sixth annual "Marine and Outdoor Recreation Expo" on Sunday, October 2, from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. at the Jones Beach West End Boat Basin alongside the Short Beach Coast Guard Station in Wantagh, NY. Saladino's free event is expected to attract over 4,500 children and families, and provide them with the opportunity to kayak, canoe, fish and receive lessons from the pros.
Each year Assemblyman Saladino utilizes this venue to introduce children, families and enthusiasts of all ages to fishing, marine education, and other outdoor recreational activities. This year's event also includes marine life touch tanks, solar and renewable energy demonstrations, environmental conservation exhibits, arts and crafts, New York's largest fish-shaped cake, Coast Guard and Police Boat tours and live music by a group that performs at some of Long Island's most popular clubs and restaurants.
