Brooklyn – Assemblyman Karim Camara of the 43rd AD, is the Keynote Speaker for a Forum on Affordable Housing, sponsored by Crown Heights Revitalization Movement (CHRM) on Thursday, October 29th, at 7:00pm. The event will be held in The Atrium, at The Center for Nursing and Rehabilitation, 520 Prospect Place (entrance on Classon) between Prospect & Park Places.
“This is an important forum for all who are concerned with housing in the City of New York, especially, in Central Brooklyn, where the middle class are facing substantial barriers to access, including the influx of luxury developments that far out of the range of affordable, the housing crisis which has caused many hard working New Yorker’s to lose their homes as well,” stated Assemblyman Camara.
Assemblyman Camara is a strong supporter of affordable housing and has introduced legislation in Albany that protects tenants from being negatively impacted as a result of a landlord’s foreclosure, and legislation that makes it illegal for landlords to reject qualified applicants on the basis of their source of income.
