EPIC Funding Restored in Final Budget
$30.6 million will help reinstate co-payment assistance
March 27, 2012
“Seniors should not have to choose between putting food on their table and filling their prescriptions. That is why I fought to restore $30.6 million to the Elderly Pharmaceutical Insurance Coverage (EPIC) program in the 2012-2013 budget. This funding will help reinstate co-payment assistance that will allow the 3,433 Rockland County seniors currently enrolled in EPIC to return to paying no more than a $20 co-pay for each prescription.”
“With the continued increase in the cost of living, many seniors are finding it harder to afford their prescriptions on a fixed income. By restoring this funding we can provide some relief to seniors to help them afford their medication.”
