Assembly Passes Redistricting Reform
March 14, 2012
“Today, the Assembly passed legislation reforming the state's redistricting process. While I would have preferred independently drawn district; these are the district lines we have. If this bill is signed into law all future district lines will be drawn by an independent redistricting commission. With this matter behind us, we can now focus on the issues Rockland County working families are most concerned with: passing a fair, on-time, and fiscally responsible budget that invests in education and health care, cuts taxes for 99 percent of New Yorkers and helps businesses create good-paying jobs.”
