Assemblymember Cahill Announces Correction Officers Recruitment

Assemblymember Kevin A. Cahill (D-Ulster, Dutchess) would like to inform all area residents that the New York State Department of Civil Service will be offering an exam for State Department of Correctional Services Correction Officer positions on Saturday, April 14, 2007 at various locations statewide.

Applications from interested candidates must be postmarked no later than February 26, 2007. Applications, along with exam announcements, Correction Officer fact sheets and maps of correctional facilities are available from Mr. Cahill’s Kingston District Office, New York State Department of Labor offices, all New York State correctional facilities and at www.docs.state.ny.us the official website for the Department of Corrections.

“This is an opportunity to investigate the possibility of a rewarding career in the field of the custody and security of criminal offenders,” noted Mr. Cahill. “I urge anyone interested to take a closer look at the particulars of these jobs, including salary, benefits and location criteria,” he concluded.
