Assemblymember Kevin Cahill’s Statement Regarding DEC Action Against Callanan Industries

"I have been asking for strict enforcement of the DEC blasting permit issued to Callanan Industries for their mining operation in East Kingston. While I believe Callanan to be a responsible company, they are dealing in a dangerous business and the neighbors are justifiably concerned. I am pleased that the DEC has taken this step and hope that the outcome ultimately serves to protect the lives, health and property of residents of this community."
