Assemblymember Kevin Cahill (D-Ulster/Dutchess) announced today funds he secured for the creation of a community public access web portal. Kingston Community Radio was awarded a grant to develop a method that residents can use to access public affairs programming from Ulster County local public access television and radio on the web.
“This is a real opportunity for Ulster County to be connected. It will allow residents to find out what is going on in their community in an easily accessible format not constrained by time or circumstances. Having the ability to "click" and see or hear a recent Town Board meeting or other public access program is a step into the real information age” said Walter Maxwell of Kingston Community Radio, WGHQ.
“This enhancement will further enable the public to take advantage of the benefits of community public access. The archives of this web portal will propel Kingston and the community into the new age of instant information. If you wanted to hear a radio show on Kingston Community Radio and missed it, now you will be able to receive the requested information on your desktop PC, laptop or other mobile device in a timely manner. I am pleased to have been able to provide the means for this exciting new resource” noted Mr. Cahill.
Further developments will continue as they arise. For more information or questions about the web portal visit the Kingston Community Radio Web site or call Mr. Cahill’s Kingston District Office at (845) 338-9610.
