Statement from Assemblymember Cahill on the Departure of SUNY New Paltz President Steven Poskanzer
April 23, 2010
It is with mixed emotions that I wish congratulations and the best of luck to SUNY New Paltz President Steve Poskanzer on the occasion of his departure. Steve and I had a good working relationship and collaborated on many issues of importance to the campus community.
Our combined efforts have worked to strengthen the relationship between the college and the labor community. Steve and I worked together to bring millions in capital to improve the campus, resulting in the renovation and revitalization of many facilities.
While we usually saw eye to eye on key issues affecting the college, our occasional disagreements were always cordial, professional and with the best interest of the students, faculty and SUNY in mind. Carelton College is fortunate to have Steve as their President.
