Chair, Insurance Committee
Cahill Statement on Power For Jobs
May 12, 2010
“I am deeply disappointed that after over ten months of hearings, roundtables and negotiations, the Senate, Governor and Assembly were unable to reach an agreement on a permanent replacement of our Power For Jobs program before its expiration this Saturday.
“It is more important, however, that we protect the vested interests of our upstate residents who currently participate in the Rural and Domestic Set-Aside. We will continue our negotiations until we reach a conclusion that is satisfactory to all and creates a permanent program that will serve as New York’s premiere economic development engine for the 21st Century.”
