Statement From Assemblyman Cahill On The Passing Of Assemblyman Tom Kirwan
November 29, 2011
Albany – “Tom Kirwan was a special person in the New York State Legislature. He didn't have to remember his roots, because he lived them every day, still in the heart of the City of Newburgh.
“He was plain spoken and did not concern himself with the personal consequences of his stands. Tom could always be counted on to fight for what he believed was right for the communities he represented and people of New York State. Most of all, however, he was a good man with a heart of gold and a strong constitution.
“Tom and I did not agree on most points philosophically, but we never challenged each others' ethics, motives or goals. Unique in the Assembly, Tom will be missed.”
