Assemblymember Cahill Guest Reads at Andy Murphy Center Christmas Event
December 22, 2012
Kingston, NY – Assemblymember Kevin Cahill (D- Ulster, Dutchess) attended a Holiday event for the Everette Hodge Community Center and the Rondout Neighborhood Center on Friday at the Midtown Neighborhood Center in Kingston. There were approximately 300 people in attendance including children who participate in the after school programs at each Center and their families.
The evening event, coordinated by the City of Kingston’s Parks and Recreation Department and Megan Weiss from FAMILY of Woodstock, included dinner, games, stockings stuffed with goodies and a viewing of The Polar Express. The Assemblyman gave a variety of books to the Centers from his Book Drive that will be used as stocking stuffers and attended the event to read an excerpt from Chris Van Allsberg’s, The Polar Express, one of his holiday favorites.
Assemblymember Cahill would like to take the time to mention and thank the local merchants who helped to make this event a guaranteed good time for all:

- FAMILY of Woodstock, Inc.
- First Niagara
- Armadillo Restaurant
- Rondout Music Lounge
- Center for Creative Education
- UlsterCorps
- Diane Reeder and the Queens Galley
- Movies Under the Stars Committee

“I am happy to have been a part of such a joyous occasion,” said Cahill. “I hope the kids and their families had a memorable evening.”
