Cahill Calls for Meeting with Hein

Kingston, NY – Assemblyman Kevin Cahill (D – Ulster, Dutchess) sent a letter to Ulster County Executive Michael Hein today, calling for a meeting to resolve issues surrounding the temporary additional sales tax Hein is seeking.
“Even though Mr. Hein continues to refuse to meet, I did sit down with Ulster County legislative leaders and hammered out an understanding,” Cahill said. “With Mr. Hein's cooperation, I believe we can resolve our outstanding issues in the upcoming county budget and when the state legislature returns in January.”
In addition to calling for a meeting, Assemblyman Cahill corrected the latest misstatements attributed to the County Executive. In a recent Mid Hudson News report, Hein is quoted as accusing the Assemblyman of refusing to request that the state legislature reconvene. In reality, Assemblyman Cahill has made numerous such requests.
