Butler: Volunteer Fire Departments Seeking New Recruits
Assemblyman encourages residents to visit during fire department open house weekend

Assemblyman Marc W. Butler (R,C,I-Newport) is proud to promote RecruitNY, a statewide fire department open house and volunteer recruitment drive on Saturday, April 27 and Sunday, April 28. Fire departments throughout the state will be offering demonstrations and are eager to answer questions potential volunteers may have.
“Our fire departments are looking for caring and brave individuals to add to their volunteer ranks and are opening their doors during RecruitNY weekend to sign up more volunteers,” said Butler. “I encourage the public to take time over that weekend to learn more about our volunteer firefighter programs.”
Butler says that these volunteer firefighters are not only lifesavers, they are saving taxpayers’ money. Volunteer firefighters save taxpayers $7 billion annually.
The RecruitNY volunteer drive is on Saturday, April 27 and Sunday, April 28. Participating firehouses are listed at www.RecruitNY.org. For specific details, residents should contact their local volunteer fire department.
