Assemblyman Mark Gjonaj's Black History Month Poster Contest
February 25, 2013

In honor and recognition of Black History Month, Assemblyman Mark Gjonaj invited public schools in the 80th Assembly District to participate in a poster contest. Students were asked to design and create a poster symbolizing the significance of Black History Month and include a paragraph to summarize the inspiration of their work with each submission. School faculty chose the winners from each participating grade and at the end of the month the Assemblyman visited PS 76, PS 83, PS 89, PS 108, PS 121, PS/MS 498 Van Nest Academy and presented the First Place winner with a $50 gift card from Barnes & Nobles and Certificate of Award.
