Johns Committed To Local Needs In Budget
Statement from Assemblyman Mark Johns (R,C-Webster) on Gov. Cuomo’s budget address at Rochester Institute of Technology:
February 17, 2012
“I appreciate Governor Cuomo’s efforts to include our region in major discussions concerning New York, especially in regard to the state budget. I am confident that we can work together to increase aid for our region, spur economic growth and protect our community’s property taxpayers.
“But our work is not done. Albany must continue to do more with less by enacting meaningful mandate relief and ease that burden off our residents and businesses. This shift in focus is critical to healthy and vibrant communities.
“I stand with the Governor to see through important investments in our economy like a push for more private sector jobs and infrastructure improvements – including the I-390 exchange which will connect many of my constituents with the University of Rochester and Rochester Institute of Technology.
“I think we can do more to alleviate the mandate burdens on localities and schools, and I offer my assistance to Governor Cuomo as we move toward finalizing an on-time and balanced budget.”
