Johns To Assembly Majority: Your Budget Doesn’t Protect Our Taxpayers

Statement from Assemblyman Mark Johns (R,C-Webster) on the Assembly Majority’s One-House Budget Bill
March 12, 2012

“The Assembly Majority’s budget gives another boost to the special interests at the expense of New York taxpayers. The Majority offered no fiscal impact statement, proposed no spending cap and certainly fell short on money-saving government consolidation and efforts to improve job growth throughout the state. Sadly, while lots of spending is being proposed, their plan for economic growth is murky and does little to help spur badly-needed job growth in the state. Their special interests-based plan could potentially add hundreds of millions of dollars in spending, and there is no way I can support such a reckless blueprint for this state’s taxpayers.”
