Johns Announces NY Works Projects In The 135th Assembly District
July 30, 2012

Assemblyman Mark Johns (R,C-Webster) announced today that resurfacing has begun on portions of State Routes 104 and 441 in the towns of Webster and Penfield, respectively. The projects are part of a $7.4 million contract to pave state roads as part of Gov. Andrew Cuomo’s NY Works Program.

“These projects speed up our highway and road reconstruction efforts and also put local people to work,” said Assemblyman Johns. “Motorists throughout the 135th Assembly District will see much more road work this year than in years past, so we ask them to be patient and drive carefully through construction zones.”

NY Works focuses on improving pavement and preventative maintenance, which will better preserve the state’s transportation infrastructure for years to come. The contract includes pavement repairs on the following state roads in the 135th Assembly District:

  • More than 5.5 miles of Route 104 from the Bay Bridge to Phillips Road in the town of Webster. Construction begins in August and will continue for about three months. Most of the work will take place at night.
  • Nearly three miles of Route 441 from Dublin Road in the town of Penfield to the Wayne County line. Work begins this week and will continue for about three weeks.

The contractor for this work is Village Construction of Fairport. Motorists should expect travel delays and take any necessary precautions while driving these roads.
