PLEASE SIGN JOHNS’ PETITION TO RESTORE THE $90 MILLION CUT FROM THE BUDGET TO FUND DEVELOPMENTALLY DISABLED NON-PROFIT ORGANIZATIONS
Assemblyman Mark Johns:
Protecting Those Most Vulnerable In Our Community
We are trusted to protect those in our society who are the most vulnerable. Political posturing has no place as we make decisions about funding the care of the developmentally disabled in our community.
Even during difficult economic times, we cannot forego our responsibility to provide services to those who are vulnerable in our community. These cuts represent bad judgment by Albany politicians.
When politicians feel more comfortable providing $420 million in Hollywood industry subsidies to society’s elite than providing full funding for a population that needs daily assistance, our state has failed the test of morality.
We need to focus on smart solutions to rejuvenate the infrastructure and job creation in this state; however, sacrificing services to those in our community who are developmentally disabled is not an option.
We hold the responsibility of caretaker as well as friend to these people. Please join me in sending a clear message to Albany that funding for the developmentally disabled is non-negotiable and needs to be restored immediately.
Please sign the petition below and, when complete, I will deliver these petitions to the leaders of the state legislature and the governor’s office.
