Assemblywoman Michelle Schimel Announces Middle Class STAR Deadline Extension

Great Neck – Assemblywoman Michelle Schimel reminds constituents that the application deadline for the Middle Class STAR rebate has been extended to December 31, 2007. The extension was made in response to problems encountered in several counties in verifying rebate eligibility and delays with mailings and paperwork.

“We want to ensure that all residents who qualify for the STAR rebate have a fair chance to apply,” said Assemblywoman Michelle Schimel. “By extending the deadline until the end of December there will be plenty of time to apply for your rebate check, if you have not already done so.”

Homeowners should have received a letter and application from the New York State Department of Taxation and Finance with all the information needed.

For those who have not received or have misplaced their letter, contact the Department of Taxation and Finance at 1-877-678-2769. You will need to provide the physical address of the property and the property identification information, which can be found on your tax bill.
