To answer questions about flood insurance, home owner policy cancellations and other concerns

Great Neck – Assemblywoman Michelle Schimel invites you to attend an Insurance Forum on Thursday, October 8, 2009 at 7 p.m. at North Hempstead Town Hall, 220 Plandome Road, Manhasset.

Due to growing concern among her constituents about a surge in the cancellation of homeowners’ insurance policies and long-term care insurance issues, Assemblywoman Schimel is partnering with the New York State Insurance Department to provide up-to-date information about various insurance concerns. A question and answer session will follow the presentation. Former Assemblyman Ivan Lafayette, Deputy Superintendent for Community Affairs, will discuss the following issues:

• Cancellation of homeowner insurance policies
• Flood and hurricane insurance
• Long-term care insurance
• Insurance fraud (auto, home, and medical)
