February 12, 2007

Assemblyman Pete Lopez (R,C,I-Schoharie) met at the State Capitol in Albany this week with students and advisors from the 127th Assembly District who are part of the Liberty Partnerships Program (LPP). LPP was created in 1988 to address the significant dropout rate among New York’s youth. The program offers high school dropout prevention classes and other services to urban, suburban and rural youths. During the meeting, Lopez and LPP members discussed the importance of finishing high school, lowering the dropout rate, and the long-term consequences of a large unskilled workforce in New York.
