Assemblyman Pete Lopez (R,C,I-Schoharie) and Breast Cancer Options, Inc. of Kingston, New York will be holding a forum on May 8, 2008 to raise breast cancer awareness in the community and educate attendees on the detection, treatment, and risks of breast cancer. The forum will be held in Saugerties, NY from 6:30-8PM at the Frank D. Greco Senior Multi-Purpose Center.
"This is a free and open to the public forum aimed at educating people about the issues associated with breast cancer," said Assemblyman Lopez. "It is my hope that those who attend will walk away with a better understanding of how to reduce the chances of getting breast cancer, as well as a keener knowledge of treatment options and patients’ rights."
Sponsoring the forum along with Assemblyman Lopez is Breast Cancer Options, a grassroots, survivor-driven, organization serving the Hudson Valley, which focuses solely on breast cancer issues. The group is committed to making sure that all people have access to excellent health care, can make informed health choices, and have support for making critical health care decisions.
"Making sure that individuals have the awareness and resources available to promote healthy lifestyles must remain a high priority," said Assemblyman Lopez. "I encourage the community to attend this important event."
To attend the forum, please contact Breast Cancer Options at 845-339-4673 or via e-mail at hope@breastcanceroptions.org to reserve a spot. If you have any questions or comments, please feel free to contact Assemblyman Lopez in his Catskill office at 518-943-1371.
