Assemblyman Pete Lopez Encourages All To Participate In 2010 Census
***Public Service Announcement***
March 8, 2010

Assemblyman Pete Lopez is encouraging all residents to participate in the 2010 Census. The results of the census determine the next ten years of federal policies as well as the amount of federal aid given to the state for services as wide-ranging as education, hospitals and health care, elder care and nursing homes, as well as transportation and other project funding.

“The results of the census will drive national budgetary and policy decisions for the next decade. It’s vital that we take deliberate steps to ensure an accurate and thorough process, and I strongly encourage every resident to fill out and return their questionnaire,” said Assemblyman Lopez, referring to the census questionnaire forms which are currently being mailed to households nationwide.

If you need more information about the questionnaire, please call the Telephone Questionnaire Assistance (TQA) center at 1-866-872-6868. The lines will be open from 8 a.m. to 9 p.m. seven days a week from February 25, 2010 through July 30, 2010.

Prior to April 22, 2010, a TQA agent can assist you with completing the form, but you must mail back the completed form in the envelope provided with the form. Between April 23 and July 30, 2010, a TQA agent can take your information over the phone:
