Assemblyman Pete Lopez is encouraging all residents to participate in the 2010 Census. The results of the census determine the next ten years of federal policies as well as the amount of federal aid given to the state for services as wide-ranging as education, hospitals and health care, elder care and nursing homes, as well as transportation and other project funding.
“The results of the census will drive national budgetary and policy decisions for the next decade. It’s vital that we take deliberate steps to ensure an accurate and thorough process, and I strongly encourage every resident to fill out and return their questionnaire,” said Assemblyman Lopez, referring to the census questionnaire forms which are currently being mailed to households nationwide.
