Assemblyman Pete Lopez: Late Budget Is Hurting Businesses, Causing Unemployment
Statement from Assemblyman Pete Lopez (R,C,I-Schoharie)
April 30, 2010
I understand the governor’s frustration with the status of budget negotiations. Speaker Silver and the Senate leadership need to do their job and pass a responsible budget that helps struggling taxpayers and businesses, and honors the contracts of hardworking New Yorkers. Construction workers and other working families are innocent victims caught in the crossfire of Albany leadership infighting and should not have to suffer because of their inaction and ineffectiveness.
