Lopez Pleased To See Governor Requesting Federal Aid for Recent Flooding

Statement from Assemblyman Pete Lopez (R,C,I – Schoharie)
May 25, 2011
Many New Yorkers continue to face financial difficulties. Our recent extreme weather is only adding further stress to the families and businesses of the 127th Assembly District. Governor Cuomo has announced he would be seeking federal disaster aid for 26 New York counties as a result of April’s severe flooding including Chenango, Delaware and Ulster. I want to commend the Governor for taking this step to aid the many individuals and families who have been impacted by the flooding’s damage over the past few weeks.

While the call for federal disaster aid is a welcome sign of relief to the families and local businesses of the 127th Assembly District, I will continue to offer any help I can to those in need. Anyone who is struggling and requires assistance should call any one of my district offices in Catskill, Schoharie or Sidney. The numbers are 518-943-1371, 518-295-7250, and 607-563-2919, respectively. I, or a member of my staff, will attempt to get you the help you need.
