Assemblyman Ramos: Education Agreement Looks Out for All Kids

Reforms student testing and rejects education tax credit

“I’m pleased by the agreement reached by the governor and Legislature that responds to parent concerns by ensuring students testing is fair, accurate and grade-level appropriate. These are important steps toward supporting students and teachers so that every child has the opportunity to succeed. By reducing test-related stress and providing critical funding for all schools, we can help improve education and ensure our kids thrive.

“This agreement also rejected the Education Tax Credit (ETC) to ensure that tax credits are not unfairly diverted for private education. Moving forward, I look forward to supporting all schools, while remaining committed to refusing any policies that would seek tax breaks at the cost of our students’ education and the taxpayers’ dime.
