Assemblyman Goldfeder joined other elected officials, community leaders, and hundreds of local residents at a public hearing in Jamaica, Queens to testify against the Liberty LNG Port Ambrose project proposed for a site off the coast of Long Island. In his testimony, Assemblyman Goldfeder blasted the federal government's disregard for public concern and input on the proposal. Goldfeder also voiced concerns over safety risks posed to Queens families by the presence of the deep-water port and the highly combustible liquefied natural gas it would store.
