The Governor’s Executive Budget takes tremendous strides toward reducing the costs to localities that drive up taxes on local families and businesses. The spending plan tackles two, critical cost drivers: Medicaid payments and pension costs. By removing the burden of annual Medicaid increases and creating a new Tier VI pension plan for future public employees, state government can go a long way toward providing substantial savings that will result in lower costs for Western New York’s taxpayers.
