Assemblyman Ray Walter speaks with SUNY Chancellor Nancy Zimpher at the recent budget hearing for Higher Education.
Assemblyman Ray Walter (R,C,I-Amherst) recently spoke with SUNY Chancellor Nancy Zimpher about the progress being made on UB 2020, and a host of other higher education issues. “With work underway on UB 2020, Western New York is taking the reins to lead the state’s economic comeback,” said Walter. “UB 2020 not only enhances our world-class educational institution, but also spurs economic growth that will last far beyond the initial bricks and mortar. I was thrilled to have the opportunity to speak with Chancellor Zimpher about the progress being made, and thank her again for the support on this project and the entire SUNY system.” Last month, Governor Cuomo signed the University at Buffalo 2020 challenge grant, which includes $375 million for new faculty, expanded academic programs, updated facilities and the relocation of the UB School of Medicine and Biomedical Sciences to the Buffalo Niagara Medical Campus.
