Prescription Drug Registry Can Prevent Further Tragedy
Assemblyman Ray Walter (R,C,I-Amherst) issued the following statement:
June 11, 2012
In Western New York, we know firsthand the irreparable damage caused to families by the scourge of prescription drug abuse. Passionate local advocates like Avi and Julie Israel have made their voices heard on the urgency of combating this abuse, and as a result, New York state is taking the lead in keeping pills off the streets. I commend my colleagues in the state Senate and Assembly for heeding the call of our constituents and putting politics aside to tackle prescription drug abuse head on.
