Cyber-Bullying Bill Takes Small Step Forward
Assemblyman Ray Walter (R,C,I-Amherst) issued the following statement on the passage of A.10712, prohibiting cyber-bullying in public schools:

The passage of this bill takes a small step toward confronting and preventing the problem of cyber-bullying in New York’s schools. However, our work is far from over. We need to build on this momentum by increasing parental involvement and imposing stiffer penalties on offenders. As a father of two boys who has worked to stifle cyber- bullying since my days in the Erie County Legislature, I look forward to addressing this problem appropriately.
