Walter Welcomes New Daemen College President

Assemblyman Ray Walter congratulates Daemen College’s new President, Dr. Gary Olson.

Assemblyman Ray Walter (R,C,I-Amherst) today attended the Inauguration Ceremony for Daemen College President Dr. Gary Olson at the Charles J. Wick Campus Center. Dr. Olson, a scholar of rhetoric, writing, and culture, began his term as president in February of this year, but was never formally inaugurated. Walter had the honor of giving a short speech congratulating Dr. Olson and spoke of the future of higher education in Western New York.

“I want to, first off, congratulate Daemen College’s new president, Dr. Gary Olson, and wish him a long, successful and productive tenure here,” said Walter. “Colleges like Daemen are a bastion of hope for many young men and women looking to further their education and gain the insightful experience imperative to having a fruitful professional career. Leaders like Dr. Olson are invaluable to this community and Western New York as a whole.”
