"This is not an international problem, this is an American problem, these are American citizens that to this day have not yet received the full benefits of that citizenship. They don't receive all of the opportunities and protections that the citizenship should allow as being U.S citizens," Assemblymember Rodriguez said, speaking on behalf of resolution K811, which would aim to push for federal policies to be changed to allow for the citizens of Puerto Rico to receive benefits that will largely benefit them in the long term.
