The Western New York Assembly Majority Delegation recently secured $12,500 in funding for the Niagara Community Action Program to administer the Rural Preservation Program in Niagara County.
"The funding we secured for the Rural Preservation Program will enable the continued administration of this vital program and allow continuity of housing assistance and services to eligible residents of Niagara County," said Assemblyman Robin Schimminger, who chairs the Western New York Assembly Majority Delegation.
"I am pleased that the Niagara Community Action Program will have the financial resources it needs to provide housing assistance to families in rural areas of Niagara County," said Assemblywoman Francine DelMonte.
The Niagara Community Action Program, Inc. is a private, not-for-profit human service organization whose mission is to provide opportunities through its programs and services to needy Niagara County residents. The Rural Preservation Program was implemented in the mid-1980s to assist residents residing in the twelve rural towns and three rural villages of Niagara County. Programs offered to residents include home repair grants, budget counseling, and contact information for organizations that offer additional services.
