Schimminger to Hold Roundtable on Upstate Economy
Assemblyman Robin Schimminger, who chairs the Assembly Committee on Economic Development, Job Creation, Commerce and Industry, will host a roundtable discussion on issues related to the Upstate economy this Friday in Buffalo.
More than fifty top business and economic development leaders from the Buffalo Niagara region will participate, focusing particularly on how they believe various state budget proposals would impact efforts to keep and grow businesses and jobs in Western New York and the rest of the Upstate region. Schimminger (D-C-I-Kenmore) is expected to again serve as the Assembly chair of the joint budget conference committee that will be charged with resolving outstanding differences in the economic development portion of the state budget for the 2008-09 fiscal year.
The roundtable will be held from 9:30 to 11:30 a.m. on Friday, March 7, at the Hauptman-Woodward Medical Research Institute, 700 Ellicott Street.
