STAR Rebate Deadline January 22

Taxpayers have until January 22 to apply for a STAR tax rebate and need to get their applications into the state Tax Department by filing form DTF-178.

Anyone who has not received a rebate and feels that they are entitled to one can obtain the form from the Tax Department website www.nystax.gov, or calling the toll-free number 1-877-678-2769, or visit their local assessor’s office. The form must be signed by the local assessor to verify that the taxpayer is entitled to a STAR rebate.
