Assemblywoman Sandy Galef was honored as New York State School Boards Association as their Assembly Legislator of the Year, on March 4, 2007, for her hard work on behalf of our State’s children and public education.
The New York State School Boards Association (NYSSBA) announced that Galef is a champion for public education, recognizing her efforts and contributions for the past year. NYSSBA acknowledged Galef as an inspiration to local school officials statewide, through her work regarding charter school funding, limiting mandates on schools and municipalities, and Wicks Law, real property tax, and legislative reform.
As stated on the NYSSBA website, “[Galef] will inspire us to a new level of commitment for school boards and a new level of success for our students.”
“This is a great honor to be recognized for my legislative efforts. I will continue to work hard to make a real difference in the lives of our children,” stated Galef.
