“Dear Sandy” TV Show Featuring Assemblywoman Sandy Galef Discusses the 400th Anniversary of the Discovery of the Hudson River

Assemblywoman Sandy Galef reviews plans for the Quadricentennial Celebration with Tara Sullivan, Director for the Hudson-Fulton-Champlain Quadricentennial Commission, on her show “Dear Sandy.”

This latest installment of “Dear Sandy” focuses on the celebration that will be taking place up and down the Hudson River in the coming months, celebrating the 400th Anniversary of Henry Hudson’s voyage of discovery, as well as Samuel de Champlain’s explorations and the 200th anniversary of Robert Fulton’s successful steamboat voyage on the Hudson.

Noted events in the coming months include “River Day” on June 6, 2009, in which thousands of boats will take part in a reenactment of Henry Hudson’s historic voyage up the Hudson River. The Poughkeepsie-Highland Railroad Bridge, which will be known as the “Walkway Over the Hudson,” will be opening this fall which will offer great views of the Hudson River, in addition to the many local events occurring within communities.
