Assemblywoman Sandy Galef, Putnam County Legislator Vincent Tamagna and Ossining Town Supervisor Catherine Borgia discuss some of the benefits and obstacles to governments and municipalities sharing services.
Galef has long been a champion of governments sharing services in order to save taxpayers’ money. Last February she hosted a Shared Services Roundtable with local towns and villages, and in April she founded the Shared Services Task Force of the 90th Assembly District. In this episode, Tamagna and Borgia further illuminate the areas where they, and their governments, are working to consolidate and share. The three consider the necessity and effectiveness of state grants for sharing, as well as the public’s interest in this issue.
“Government officials working together with the support of residents in the community can make a big difference in changing the way we provide services for our taxpayers to lower our property taxes,” concluded Galef.
