Assemblywoman Galef Hosts Two Roundtable Discussions: Schools’ New Approaches to Sharing Services and Municipalities’ Update on New Approaches to Savings
Today, at 3:30pm in the Cortlandt Town Hall Courtroom, Assemblywoman Sandy Galef will hold two roundtable discussions related to finding new cost savings for taxpayers. The first will be an update from schools on recent efforts made to share services. Presenting for Sullivan BOCES will be Susan Schmidt, Assistant Superintendent, and representing Putnam Northern Westchester BOCES will be Dr. Jim Langlois, District Superintendent. From the Putnam Valley School District Dr. Barbara Fuchs, Superintendent of Schools, will speak. Following the main speakers, superintendents or business officials for each of the school districts in Galef’s Assembly District will also weigh in on cost savings measures.
The second discussion will be an update from municipalities on changes they have made to save money. Panelists include Alan D. Scheinkman, NYS Administrative Judge of the 9th J.D., Paul Eldridge, Putnam County Executive, John Clarkson, Vice President for Government Efficiency from Hudson Valley Pattern for Progress, and Town of Ossining Supervisor Catherine Borgia and Town of Philipstown Supervisor Richard Shea. Other municipal officials will have an opportunity to share their initiatives as well.
Both discussions will be followed by audience questions.
