Assemblywoman Galef speaks with authors Dede Emerson, Janet and Walt Daniels about wonderful walkable places in Westchester and New York City.
Emerson discusses her journey through the streets of New York and all the little known corners of Manhattan that she discovered along the way. She also talks about the many, many photographs she took on her walks. Emerson says, “I was looking for the WOW pictures and not the ordinary things.” Emerson also talks about all the friendly people that she met in her travails in and around New York’s melting pot. Learn about how Emerson felt as she walked through all the different cultures in the boroughs of New York.
The Daniels talk about their experiences walking in Westchester’s backwoods. They also discuss the background to their quest and the future of their walking adventures. The Daniels explain their experiences in the solitude and peacefulness of their excursions. From casual walkers to ambitious hikers, the Daniels hope to get people up and out into the trails of Westchester.
“These two books are a big inspiration,” Galef said. “We can learn so much from these books and from their wonderful authors about where to walk and even how to walk in the interesting and beautiful spots around Westchester and New York City.”
