New York State Assemblywoman Sandy Galef will be hosting two Town Meetings this upcoming Saturday, February 11, 2012. They will be held from 11am-1pm at Peekskill City Hall, in the second floor chamber, and from 2:15-4pm at the Desmond-Fish Library in Garrison. These meetings, previously arranged for January 21st, had to be postponed due to snow.
Galef’s Town Meetings allow constituents to share their questions and thoughts with the assemblywoman, provide insightful dialogue regarding legislative priorities, include discussions about the proposed state budget, and allow community members to exchange ideas with others in attendance.
“I am looking forward to meeting with constituents on Saturday for a discussion on a variety of topics,” said Galef. “My previous town meetings this year have encouraged an open and informative dialogue. I am pleased we were able to reschedule these town meetings which will allow more people to participate in our state government.”
Galef plans to initiate discussions on topics such as the upcoming state budget, hydrofracking for natural gas, mandate relief, and the new progressive tax rates, as well as other issues which participants would like to discuss.
