New Episode of “Speak Out” with Assemblywoman Sandy Galef to Focus on Federal Health Care

Assemblywoman Sandy Galef is joined by Michael Gusmano, Research Scholar at The Hastings Center, and Daniel Callahan, Senior Research Scholar and President Emeritus at The Hastings Center, on her latest episode of “Speak Out with Sandy Galef.” The Hastings Center is an independent, nonpartisan, and nonprofit bioethics research institute located in Garrison, New York.

This episode of Speak Out focuses on health care, specifically the costs involved and how the Federal Government has played a role in a vital industry. Gusmano and Callahan discuss the factors that have made health care so costly in the United States and the cost control measures included in the Federal Patient Protection and Affordable Care Act. As pieces of this federal law are implemented, new questions will arise and The Hastings Center has done an abundant amount of research that will help to answer them.

“Health care is such an important topic in our state and in our country, and as new reforms are being implemented, it is important for everyone to understand these changes,” said Assemblywoman Galef. “I am grateful that Michael and Daniel joined me on this new ‘Speak Out’ episode to help inform us about the changes in our health care system.”
