Assemblywoman Sandy Galef hosts members of the American Diabetes Association on her weekly cable television show “Dear Sandy.” This new episode features Daniel Dyroff, a registered nurse and diabetes educator, and Dafna Chazin, a clinical dietitian. Both guests are members of the American Diabetes Association.
Daniel and Dafna join Assemblywoman Galef to discuss how diabetes affects people’s lives and to promote an event the American Diabetes Association is promoting. Among the topics are how to prevent diabetes, who is most at risk for developing diabetes, and what steps people should take who have diabetes. In addition, there is an upcoming “Walk to Stop Diabetes” on Sunday October 23, 2011 in White Plains which is promoted in this episode. More information regarding the walk can be found online.
“I appreciate that Daniel and Dafna were able to join me to promote a cause that has impacted so many people’s lives. Diabetes, its prevention, and learning how to live a healthy life with it, is a major concern in our society and we must work together to raise awareness of its impact,” said Galef.
