State Assemblywoman Sandy Galef will hold a public forum for seniors to discuss issues with Medicare, prescription drug benefits, arthritis treatment, nursing home evaluation, and scams aimed at seniors. The event will be held Thursday, May 15, 9:00 a.m., Cortlandt Town Hall, 1 Heady Street, off Oregon Road in Cortlandt Manor.
Speakers include Dr. Arthur Rand, Arthritis Center, Hudson Valley Hospital Center, Laura Bolotsky, Westchester County Department of Senior Services, Sheila McCullagh of the non-profit IPRO dedicated to assessing and improving health care quality, and Gary Brown, Office of the State Attorney General.
The program begins with a breakfast provided by the Hudson Valley Hospital Center and concludes with a public question and answer session. Program co-sponsors are several senior groups in Westchester and Putnam Counties, including AARP Cold Spring Chapter 4709, Buchanan Seniors, Cortlandt Seniors, Croton Seniors, NO-Cort Seniors, Ossining Outreach, Ossining Seniors, Peekskill Seniors, Putnam County Office for the Aging, and Putnam County Seniors.
