"I am thrilled that the Battery Park City ball fields will open in time for the spring season on April 7. I can’t wait to join Downtown Little League in celebrating Opening Day! These fields are an integral part of our community, giving Lower Manhattan families access to crucial recreational space, which is why I worked so hard to ensure that they were repaired and opened on an expedited basis. I want to thank Chairman Mehiel and the Battery Park City Authority for responding to the community’s needs by working to open the fields as quickly as possible."
