Katz Comments On State Land Acquisition At Cranberry Mountain Wildlife Management Area
A Statement from Assemblyman Steve Katz (R,I-Yorktown)
December 13, 2011
Expansion of the protected lands at the Cranberry Mountain Wildlife Management Area will both improve the quality of life in Putnam County as well as conserve an important natural landscape. As a veterinarian by trade with experience working on wildlife species preservation in the Galapagos, I am very pleased to see similar efforts here in our own backyard. Not only will expansion of this protected wild space help conserve and preserve our community, but it will help further draw visitors and stimulate the local economy through eco-tourism. I look forward to working with the staff at Cranberry Mountain, and any natural spaces or parks throughout the 99th Assembly District, to assist them in protecting our environment and stimulating eco-tourism.
