Assemblyman Steve McLaughlin (R,C-Melrose) today joined the parents, family and friends of Hannah Smith in announcing a prayer vigil to be held tonight, 7 p.m., at the Community Gospel Church in East Greenbush. McLaughlin is urging the community to come together and show support in the search for the missing East Greenbush 16-year-old.
“The parents, family and friends of Hannah have come together over the last week and showed their strength and hope to locate Hannah,” said McLaughlin. “Last Saturday, both friends and community members alike rallied and distributed posters to raise awareness in an effort to find Hannah. Tonight, I’m urging all to join us at a prayer vigil to keep the public aware of Hannah’s disappearance.”
A junior at Columbia High School, Hannah was last seen at about 12:45 a.m. January 1 when her father kissed her good night after a family New Year’s Eve party. Hannah suffered a traumatic brain injury to her frontal lobe in a 2009 car accident involving a drunk driver.
